Located in the labyrinth of restaurants in the Browary Warszawskie, Gastronomja might be one of the best places for lunch in this part of the business district.
Gastronomja
Polish, Central, and Eastern European meat dishes feature heavily on the Gastronomja menu, so expect big-flavour favourites like borscht and pierogi, with duck, deer, and pork knuckles, and the beef tartare is particularly popular here. Sat in the heart of the Browary Warszawskie complex of restaurants and bars, somewhat in the business district, I initially found Gastronomja quite hard to find. Walk along Grzybowska, until you find building 60 and cut into Browary Warszawskie via the side street to the right. You’ll find some maps once you’re inside the centre.
Gastronomja address: Grzybowska 56, Warsaw 00-844 Poland
Muranów, Mirów, and Powązki Districts: To the north and to the west, these districts include two powerhouse Warsaw museums: The POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews and The Warsaw Rising Museum – both are exceptional and highly recommended. There are new restaurants popping up in these areas all the time, including SZUM, and you’ll find some budget hotels, such as the ibis Warszawa Centrum.
